This year the prestigious annual event for the UK tiling industry, through The Tile Association (TTA), was held at the Radisson Blu Portman Hotel, London. Once again, the event was hosted by TV celebrity Emma Jesson and was a sell-out, attended by most of the leading companies in the industry, including manufacturers, contractors and distributors.

Best Use of Tile in the Leisure/Hospitality Industry Award was won by Grespania for the Park Regis Hotel, Birmingham. The Park Regis Hotel is the latest addition to the luxury hotel industry, situated in Birmingham.

Palace Calacata 600 by 600mm porcelain tiles were used, which boast a crystalline polish giving a seamless high gloss finish.  The clever use of wood imitation porcelain, alongside the natural stone design, showcases just how far the industry has come with inkjet technology. This is a truly breathtaking display of exactly why the ceramics industry is going from strength to strength.

The total flooring area for the lobby utilising the material was around 600sq m. The overall quantity for all porcelains and ceramics featured in the 253-bedroom hotel totalled 8,000 sq. metres.

This project was competed around March 2016.  It has spa facilities and a rooftop restaurant offering 360 degree views of the city and an executive lounge.
