In recent years the kitchen has regained a central position in the domestic space, ceasing to be solely dedicated to traditional activities such as the preparation and consumption of meals but evolving in constant fusion with the living area. The growing desire to convert it into an environment of conviviality and work is accompanied by precise stylistic choices that transform it into a beautiful place to live and show, characterized primarily by perfect integration of functionality and aesthetics.

This vision, highlighted by the latest research Global Kitchen 2019, promoted by Cosentino, a Spanish company leader in the production and distribution of innovative surfaces for the world of design and architecture, to show social changes and modern lifestyles are influencing the design and ways of using the domestic kitchen, and fully shared by Elica, for 50 years synonymous with efficiency, innovation and design in the field of stove hoods and hobs with integrated extraction.

A partnership, the one between the two companies, born in 2012, which is renewed, once again bringing together the expertise of Cosentino and Elica in the kitchen sector, to create an extraordinary variation in Dekton® of Bloom-s and Rules. The two new models of Elica hoods, designed by designer Fabrizio Crisà to combine excellent performance with maximum fluidity in terms of design, respond to the constant search for new shapes and innovative materials, a distinctive feature that distinguishes Elica hoods around the world. "An example of this is the PIX model, characterized by the cement or denim effect finish or the Lullaby, a perfect harmony between steel and oak wood, and the Sweet hood completely made of technopolymer.

Innovation as a primary tool to bring value and well-being to people, the constant investment in formal, conceptual and technological research, the desire to offer cutting-edge solutions but, at the same time, totally flexible and customizable according to different needs: these are the values and objectives common to the two companies that, over time, have never stopped revolutionizing and inspiring their respective sectors.

And it is precisely in this perspective of continuous experimentation that Elica has integrated the new Bloom-s range of hoods - a perfect combination of advanced solutions that allow excellent results in terms of suction, silence and energy efficiency - and Rules - whose linear design integrates perfectly into the kitchen, aligning itself to the millimeter with the depth of the wall units - with two models equipped with a front panel in Dekton®, the innovative ultra-compact surface of the Cosentino Group. The result of a sophisticated blend of raw materials such as glass, latest-generation porcelain stoneware and quartz, Dekton® ensures superior technical qualities, such as reduced liquid absorption and high resistance to scratches, stains, impacts and temperature changes, combining them with aesthetic perfection. The designer Fabrizio Crisà has chosen this material in the Sirius shade, a full and intense black able to give strength and personality to every kitchen project, and in the exclusive Slim format. Thanks to its extremely reduced thickness and weight (4mm and 10 kg/m² respectively), Slim is the ideal choice for projects requiring high performance and lightweight materials as it combines all the technical and mechanical characteristics of Dekton® with a unique format, much thinner, lighter and easier to handle during installation. Launched on the international market in 2019, this innovative format is currently available for 20 shades of the Dekton® range.

As Fabrizio Crisà, Design Center Manager of the Elica Group, states: "Today the kitchen is the place that, more than any other domestic environment, is representative of one's style and the person who lives it. This has led us designers to have to imagine it in a new way, where functionality must be perfectly integrated into space and where the harmony of the environment becomes essential". Fabrizio Crisà adds "I've always imagined products that can disappear, returning only the function and the choice of Dekton® as a coating goes exactly in the direction of total integration. The hood like the kitchen top or the wall cladding, in a chameleon-like way, blends with architecture and space, while maintaining its distinctiveness as in the case of Bloom-S. Rules, on the other hand, represents a further step forward because, not only the cladding but also on a formal level, I have sought symbiosis with the kitchen by reducing the thickness of the product to a minimum, eliminating any visible functional element. Moreover, the dimensions of the front follow exactly the modularity of the kitchen wall units and thanks to the possibility of adjusting the depth during installation, you can have the maximum continuity of the surface". In conclusion, Crisà reiterates "The choice of Dekton® was dictated by the desire to achieve a "total look", a trend in strong growth, and the black Sirius finish is now a popular choice for kitchen tops. However, despite the search for integration, Sirius black, thanks to its versatility, allows the product to live even in kitchens with different materials and finishes".

"The collaboration with a prestigious partner like Elica, whose philosophy of excellence and great attention to detail we share, represents the perfect opportunity for Cosentino to explore the trend of integrated cooking, an aspect on which we expect to focus a lot in the near future", said Roberto Franceschin, Country Manager Italy, Switzerland and Slovenia of the Cosentino Group. "These hoods are an example of the application of Dekton® that goes well beyond the traditional cladding concept and allows us to highlight, in a completely new and somewhat unexpected way, the great versatility of our ultra-compact surface, launched in 2013 with the aim of broadening the aesthetic and design horizons”

Rules are the new Elica hood designed with a double soul, starting from a single will of integration. Reducing its thickness to a minimum, in fact, it almost disappears into the wall or, alternatively, it aligns perfectly with the depth of the wall units without any discontinuity. Maximum fluidity in design, without interruptions, for absolute continuity of lines in harmony with the kitchen project.

Rules guarantees in fact a completely customizable installation, thanks to the innovative SHIFT 2136 mechanism capable of millimetrically modulating its depth from 21cm to 36cm. In the Dekton® versions there is a double LED strip that makes the hood highly performing also in terms of lighting.

Focus on Rules & Bloom S

Bloom S enters the world of vertical, inclined and high-performance propeller hoods. Its shape is particularly suitable for open-space applications where it successfully dialogues with different domestic accessories, becoming an integral part of the furniture.

In Bloom S the suction area remains completely hidden, but with a simple movement of the hand, you can open the flap Moving Visor, integrated into the front part, to increase the collection surface. A 3,500K LED strip that directs the light directly onto the surface to ensure maximum comfort during food preparation completes the performance of Bloom S.
