La startup española Trucksters, operador de transporte tecnológico español basado en relevos de camiones, ha concluido el año 2021 con una facturación de más de 5 millones de euros. Este dato supone un crecimiento de un 30% respecto a 2020.
La compañía, que lleva en el mercado desde 2018, trabaja con el objetivo de convertirse en una de las flotistas referentes de España y en Europa mientras mejora la vida delos conductores de camión gracias a los relevos. Además, la facturación sigue aumentando mensualmente considerablemente y la startup ha finalizado el mes de diciembre con más de 950.000 € de ventas.
Los buenos datos hacen quelas previsiones de Trucksters para este año 2022 sean muy optimistas, ya que esperan finalizarlocon una facturación de 30 millones de euros.Luis Bardají, cofundador y CEO de la compañía, destaca: “Este último año hemos conseguido grandes hitos que nos han permitido dar un salto considerable en el sector. Vamos a seguir trabajando con la idea de convertir el sistema de relevos en el método estándar en Europa. Todo ello mientras mejoramos las condiciones de vida de los transportistas. Nuestro objetivo es lograrque el ecosistema logístico sea más sostenible y humano en todos los sentidos”.
Después de su llegada a Alemania y Bélgica este 2021, ahora Trucksters ha puesto el foco en Holanda e Italia, donde espera abrir nuevas delegaciones este año. Trucksters lleva desde 2020 realizando rutas entre Europa y España con éxito gracias a su sistema de relevos de camiones.
Actualmente, Trucksters cuenta con 82 conductores trabajando exclusivamente para laempresa y una flota de 130 camiones que se prevé aumente a 300 para finales de año, según los planes puestos en marcha por la startup. Además, su rápida expansión ha hecho que termine el año con más de 50 personas en el equipo y con nuevas vacantes abiertas que les permitiránseguir creciendo.
El servicio de transportes de Trucksters permite que los conductores de camión puedan dormir más en sus casas, ya que los profesionales solo conducen tramos de una ruta más largay en puntos de relevo se intercambian los semirremolques con otro camión para conducir lamercancía en dirección opuesta. Gracias a estos relevos su calidad de vida mejora, además de perfeccionar el servicio de transportes que perciben sus clientes, siendo este más rápido y eficiente en costes que los servicios tradicionales.
Con un sistema de transporte por carretera basado en Big Data e Inteligencia Artificial, la compañía española funciona como una aerolínea a través de corredores y es capaz de conseguir tiempos de transporte aéreo a precios de transporte terrestre. Trucksters logra que los camiones estén en marcha continuamente, sacando el máximo partido de estos.
La propuesta de Trucksters, que hace unas semanas recogió el Premio a la Mejor Startup por parte del Centro Español de Logística, ya está siendo utilizada por más de 600 empresas de renombre españolas e internacionales como Kimberly Clark, el Grupo DPD o Amazon, consiguiendo resultados muy positivos en poco tiempo, y solucionando así los problemas delsector a nivel nacional e internacional.

Spanish road freight transport start-up Trucksters registered a record 5 million euros in annual sales in 2021, a 300% increase when compared to 2020. The company, which was founded in 2018, also saw business and overall recognition with further financial support in a successful Series A financing round and by receiving Spanish and international accolades for its innovative business proposition.
Trucksters is revolutionizing road transport with the use of AI technology which optimizes the traditional relay-system, and the different routes it operates helping reduce transit times by 50%. More importantly, the firm’s model is helping improve the lives of lorry drivers, who can sleep many more nights at home.
The company is currently seeing monthly sales of €950,000, a 30% average growth each month. Based these numbers, the start-up expects an impressive revenue increase of at least 30 million euros by the end of 2022.
Currently, Trucksters has over 80 drivers working exclusive with them and a fleet of 130 trucks. By the end of 2022, the company expects to continue growing the number of drivers working with them, and to increase its fleet to 300 trucks.
As well as disrupting an old-fashioned industry, Trucksters’ founders wanted to make lorry-driving a qualitative job option to many young people who do not want to work in this space because of the current working conditions. Thanks to this view, lorry driving could soon be an 8h/day job and an attractive alternative to people wanting to work in transport and delivery. In addition to elevating the profession, the firm’s unique system also helps enhance driver safety by having better-rested drivers who are less prone to accidents on road.
A highlight of 2021 was a successful Series A financing round raising €6.3 million from international investors. These included Kibo Ventures, Amplifier, a German fund focused on supply chains, and Bonsai Partners, a reputed VC fund from Spain. They join previous investors Big Sur Ventures, Metavallon VC, The Valley VC and APX, the very-early-stage VC backed by Axel Springer and Porsche.
This support has enabled Trucksters to continue its international growth by expanding the team to more than 50 employees in 5 countries: Spain, Belgium, Greece, and Germany. 2022 will see the opening of three new branches in Poland, Netherlands and Italy.
2021 also saw overall recognition of the firm and its business proposition in different awards and accolades including: the Cinco Días award for innovation and the CEL award of the Spanish Centre for Logistics in Spain; in Germany, Trucksters was a finalist for the Dekra Safety award; while in UK it is currently one of the three finalists of the prestigious CILT award for excellence which will be announced on March 17.
