El presidente de la Autoridad Portuaria de Castellón, Rubén Ibáñez, ha mantenido una reunión de trabajo con representantes de la patronal azulejera Ascer. Durante el encuentro, Rubén Ibáñez les ha manifestado la firme apuesta de PortCastelló por el sector cerámico y prueba de ello es la bonificación de un 40% de la tasa de la mercancía a las exportaciones del sector, el máximo que permite la legislación.

“No nos conformamos con ser el puerto de referencia para la importación de materia prima, queremos ser el puerto de referencia para la salida del producto terminado en todos aquellos destinos a los que se llega desde PortCastelló”, ha explicado Rubén Ibáñez.

En este sentido, el presidente de la Autoridad Portuaria ha manifestado a Ascer su voluntad de trabajar para que nuevas líneas de contenedores escalen en el puerto de Castellón incrementado la conectividad con el extranjero porque “exportar por Castellón resulta más económico que por otros puertos, dado que las tasas son menores, hay mayores bonificaciones y se ahorra un coste considerable en transporte por carretera al tener que recorrer menos kilómetros desde las factorías hasta el puerto, lo que supone además menores emisiones de CO2”.

Rubén Ibáñez ha indicado que el puerto de Castellón “es un activo de las empresas castellonenses que no tienen en su balance, pero que está a su servicio para incrementar su competitividad disminuyendo los costes logísticos”.

Rubén Ibáñez ha puesto en valor la resiliencia de un sector que “ha atravesado por diversas crisis y dificultades económicas”. “Por eso el puerto, como plataforma logística de primer orden a nivel provincial, aprueba bonificaciones estratégicas para las empresas operen desde el puerto de Castellón”.

Estas bonificaciones tienen como objetivo favorecer la competitividad de uno de los principales sectores productivos de la provincia, así como paliar las consecuencias económicas derivadas del incremento de precios de las materias primas del sector, que suponen una parte relevante de los costes variables en el sector cerámico.

En lo que llevamos de año el tráfico de exportación de mercancías del sector cerámico representa el 10% sobre el global del tráfico, que es de 11.691.470 toneladas. Estas cifran reflejan que el puerto de Castellón tiene capacidad para ser un puerto de referencia para el sector, dado que el clúster se centra en la provincia.

El presidente de la Autoridad Portuaria ha puesto en valor la resiliencia del sector, “que está pasando por dificultades, y por eso el puerto tiene que ser su mejor aliado, junto con el resto de las administraciones, y reclamaremos todas las ayudas y acciones que se necesiten para impulsarlo”. Rubén Ibáñez ha expresado su confianza en que las infraestructuras productivas en materia de conectividad impulsadas desde la Autoridad Portuaria de Castellón “favorecerán las exportaciones de su tejido productivo más inmediato”, en referencia a los accesos ferroviarios sur y la estación intermodal.

During the encounter, Rubén Ibáñez expressed PortCastelló’s firm commitment to the ceramic tile industry, as evidenced by the 40% rebate on the goods charge for the industry’s exports, the maximum permitted by law.

“We are not content with simply being the port of reference for raw material imports, we want to be the benchmark port for finished product exports to all those destinations served by PortCastelló,” explained Ibáñez.

The Chairman of the Port Authority explained his willingness to work with Ascer to encourage new container lines to call at the Port of Castellon, thus increasing connectivity with foreign countries. “Exporting out of Castellon is cheaper than through other ports, given that charges are lower, there are higher rebates and there are significant savings in road transport costs as fewer kilometres have to be covered from the factories to the port, which also means lower CO2 emissions.”

Rubén Ibáñez pointed out that the Port of Castellon “is an asset for Castellon companies which doesn’t appear on their balance sheet, but which they can use to become more competitive by reducing logistics costs.”

Rubén Ibáñez highlighted the resilience of an industry which “has gone through a number of crises and economic difficulties. This is why the port, as a leading provincial logistics platform, has approved strategic rebates for companies operating out of the Port of Castellon.”

These rebates aim to boost the competitiveness of one of the province’s main manufacturing industries, as well as to offset the economic consequences of the price increases in raw materials, which account for a significant part of the industry’s variable costs.

So far this year, ceramic tile exports have accounted for 10% of the port’s total throughput, which is 11,691,470 tonnes. These figures show that the Port of Castellon has the capacity to be a reference port for the ceramic tile industry, given that the cluster is concentrated in the province.

The Chairman of the Port Authority has highlighted the resilience of the industry, “which is going through difficulties, and that is why the port has to be its best ally, alongside other government agencies. We will be calling for all the help and initiatives available to promote the sector.” Rubén Ibáñez said he was confident that the connectivity infrastructures promoted by the Port Authority of Castellon “will benefit local manufacturing industry exports,” in reference to the south rail access and the intermodal station.
