Mohawk Industries ha anunciado recientemente el ascenso de Mauro Vandini al puesto de presidente del Segmento Cerámico Global de la empresa. Vandini asume este nuevo cargo que compatibilizará con su puesto actual como presidente del Negocio Europeo de cerámica de Mohawk.
«Llevo trabajando con Mauro desde que compramos Marazzi en el año 2013 y siento mucho respeto tanto por su extenso conocimiento en la fabricación de productos cerámicos, las ventas y el márketing como en su capacidad para implementar mejoras en todas las áreas del negocio», ha asegurado Jeff Lorberbaum, presidente y director ejecutivo de Mohawk. «Tras la adquisición de Dal-Tile en 2002, Mohawk se ha convertido en el mayor productor de baldosas de cerámica del mundo y, en la actualidad, cuenta con fábricas en ocho países repartidos en tres continentes y vende sus productos en aproximadamente 140 países. Mauro ha conseguido desarrollar estrechas asociaciones con los líderes de nuestros negocios cerámicos regionales, con quienes colaborará para optimizar su rendimiento y podamos ofrecer así a nuestros clientes un diseño, calidad y valor excepcionales».
Vandini comenzó su carrera profesional en el año 1983 dentro del seno de Marazzi Group, donde, posteriormente, desempeñó los puestos de director técnico y vicepresidente de operaciones internacionales antes de pasar a convertirse en director ejecutivo del grupo. Tras la adquisición de Marazzi por parte de Mohawk, Vandini pasó a ocupar el puesto de responsable de los negocios europeos cerámicos de la empresa. Bajo la dirección de Vandini, la empresa incorporó nuevos negocios adicionales en Italia, Bulgaria y Polonia.

Chris Wellborn acompañará a Vandini durante su transición al puesto de director del Segmento Cerámico Global y seguirá desempeñando sus funciones como presidente y director de Operaciones de Mohawk y trabajando en colaboración con Lorberbaum.
Mohawk Industries has announced the promotion of Mauro Vandini to President of the Company’s Global Ceramic Segment, effective September 15, 2024. Vandini will maintain his current role as President of Mohawk’s European Ceramic business while taking on this new position. Jeff Lorberbaum, Mohawk’s Chairman and CEO, praised Vandini’s extensive knowledge of ceramic manufacturing, sales, and marketing.
Mohawk, the world’s largest producer of ceramic tile, operates in eight countries across three continents and sells in approximately 140 nations. Vandini, who began his career with Marazzi Group in 1983, has been instrumental in modernizing European ceramic operations and expanding the business through acquisitions and market entries. Chris Wellborn will assist in Vandini’s transition while continuing his role as Mohawk’s President and COO.

Mauro has built strong partnerships with our regional ceramic business leaders, and he will collaborate with them to optimize their performance and bring outstanding design, quality and value to our customers.”
Vandini’s career began with Marazzi Group in 1983, and he subsequently worked as Marazzi’s technical director and Vice President of International Operations before serving as CEO of Marazzi Group. Following Mohawk’s acquisition of Marazzi, Vandini became the head of the European ceramic business. Under Vandini’s direction, European ceramic operations were modernized, complementary businesses in Italy, Bulgaria and Poland were acquired and a successful entry into the rapidly growing porcelain slab market was completed.

Chris Wellborn will assist Vandini during his transition to the Global Ceramic segment leadership role and will continue his responsibilities as Mohawk’s President and Chief Operating Officer, working with Lorberbaum to ensure that Mohawk’s strategies are maximizing the Company’s long-term results as the flooring industry recovers.
