PortSur ha acogido este miércoles la descarga de 52.000 toneladas de arcilla procedentes de Ucrania / PortSur has hosted the unloading of 52,000 tons of clay from Ukraine this Wednesday.

La terminal de graneles de PortSur del puerto de Castellón ha acogido este miércoles, desde primera hora de la mañana, la descarga de 52.000 toneladas de arcilla procedentes de Ucrania con destino a la empresa Vesco Clays Spain, dedicada a la minería, producción de mezclas de arcillas y suministro de materias primas cerámicas.

De esta manera, el buque Súper Bergkamp, de 190 metros de eslora y 32 de manga, con origen del puerto ucraniano de Pivdenne, y consignado por la empresa Gimeno Logística Portuaria, se convierte en el primero que desembarca en Castellón con este material desde que estallara la guerra de Ucrania, hace ahora más de dos años.
El presidente de la Autoridad Portuaria, Rubén Ibáñez, ha subrayado que “aunque durante todo este tiempo el puerto no ha dejado de trabajar” la llegada del primer cargamento de arcilla de este país, principal proveedor de esa materia prima para el sector azulejero, “es motivo de satisfacción, ya que apunta a la recuperación de los tráficos del puerto y supone un antes y un después para el futuro de la industria cerámica”.
“PortCastelló está al servicio de los sectores productivos de la provincia y está preparado para albergar buques de grandes dimensiones como éste, de hecho, se prevé la llegada de futuros barcos de transporte de arcilla para que, el puerto de Castellón y terminales como ésta, vuelvan a ser una de las principales plataformas logísticas de importación de materia prima para la cerámica”, ha afirmado Ibáñez.
52,000 tonnes of clay from Ukraine were unloaded early today at the PortSur bulk terminal of the port of Castellón, destined for the company Vesco Clays Spain, engaged in mining, production of clay mixtures and supply of ceramic raw materials.
The Super Bergkamp, 190 metres long and 32 metres wide, originating from the Ukrainian port of Pivdenne and consigned by the company Gimeno Logística Portuaria, therefore becomes the first ship to dock in Castellón with this material since the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, more than two years ago.
The president of the Port Authority, Rubén Ibáñez, underlined that “although during all this time the port has not stopped working” the arrival of the first shipment of clay from this country, the main supplier of this raw material for the tile sector, “is a cause for satisfaction, as it points to the recovery of the port’s traffic and represents a before and after for the future of the ceramics industry”.
“PortCastelló is at the service of the productive sectors of the province and is prepared to accommodate large ships such as this one. In fact, the arrival of future clay transport ships is planned so that the port of Castellón and terminals such as this one will once again be one of the main logistics platforms for importing raw materials for ceramics,” said Ibáñez.
