Inalco colabora con la UPV en el Solar Decathlon Europe
El equipo Azalea de la Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) ha participado en el Solar Decathlon Europe (SDE) 21/22 celebrado recientemente en la ciudad alemana de Wuppertal. Se trata de una competición internacional entre universidades que, este año, invitaba a los estudiantes a diseñar y desarrollar modelos de vivienda sostenible y eficiente.
‘Escalà’ es la propuesta de vivienda sostenible, escalable y adaptable que Azalea ha presentado a esta edición del SDE. Se trata de un espacio abierto que mejora la ventilación y favorece la iluminación natural de la vivienda; que además es muy versátil, pues permite la adaptación de la vivienda a las necesidades de cada familia y espacio.
Todo el proyecto destaca por su componente sostenible, tanto en el diseño como en los materiales utilizados para su construcción, y por ser energéticamente eficiente.
Inalco ha sido partícipe también de este proyecto como parte de la contribución y compromiso con la sociedad, y continuar colaborando con la UPV como ya hizo en 2019 con el proyecto La Barraca, diseñado con Pacific Blanco.
Para este año, se han utilizado las colecciones MDi Ananda y Jasper en terraza, con el objetivo de diseñar un espacio de calma que permita la relación con el exterior.
El equipo Azalea ha obtenido tres merecidos premios en este proyecto: un primer premio en innovación, un tercer premio en arquitectura y otro tercer premio en ingeniería y construcción. ¡Nuestra más sincera enhorabuena!
Finalmente y tras acabar la competición, Escalà ha sido seleccionado para formar parte del Living Lab. De este modo, el prototipo se quedará durante 3 años en Alemania para ser testeado por el SDE.
Azalea, a team from Valencia Polytechnic University (UPV), recently took part in Solar Decathlon Europe (SDE) 21/22 , held in the German city of Wuppertal. This is an international inter-university competition in which, this year, students were invited to design and develop a model for an efficient, sustainable home.
‘Escalà’ is the adaptable, scalable, sustainable home that Azalea entered in this edition of the SDE. It is an open space, ensuring improved ventilation and more natural light in the home. It is also a highly versatile concept, since the home can be adapted to meet the needs of each particular family and their spatial requirements.
The whole project stands out for its sustainability, both in its design and in the materials used in its construction and also due to its energy efficiency.
Inalco also wished to take part in the project as part of its contribution and commitment to society, and to continue collaborating with the UPV as it did in 2019 with the ‘La Barraca’ project, designed with Pacific Blanco.
For this year’s entry, the Ananda and Jasper MDi collections were used on the terrace in order to create a restful area that links the home to its exteriors.
Azalea were awarded three well-deserved prizes for this project: first prize for innovation, third prize for architecture and another third prize in the engineering and construction category. Our most sincere congratulations!
